Not la, la, la but lie, lie, lie

As the days count down, and his credibility remains in the crapper W feels little or no compulsion to even try and tell the truth any more. At least before he used to humor America as he tried to put on a straight face, these days he doesn't even go that far:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush put politics ahead of the facts Tuesday as he sought to blame Congress for high energy prices, saying foreign suppliers are pumping just about all the oil they can and accusing lawmakers of blocking new refineries.

Facts? What facts? The only fact W ever knew that mattered was that he was the president and immune from laws, conscience and the will of the people he was elected to serve.

Yeah, yeah it's hardly news and less than blog-worthy but still cathartic none the less...

All presidents, this Bush, Clinton, Bush 41, Reagan, Ford, Carter and Kennedy ALL have been thru congressional sessions that refuse to relax the EPA so that new refineries can be built. Most refineries are circa 1940 and very few have been built due to the strict EPA regulations and stupid red-tape. It costs billions upon billions of dollars to build a refinery in the US today.

Oh the oil companies can afford to build, however there are no promises from the EPA that they wont change the rules drastically 15 yrs down the road and they potentially could have to spend billions upon billions more to meet compliance with the new rules.

I ask you, have you ever been near an oil refinery? I have and it is not a pleasant experience. Do people deserve to be made sick by the stench that spews out of an oil refinery? Trust me, it makes me want to actually vomit.

With the price of petroleum products these days and Exxon making record breaking profits, I sure as hell don't want to hear any whining that environmental laws are too strict. Refineries can run cleaner than they historically have. Its just that the CEOs might have to live on a little smaller bonus if they do.

You want descriptions? Get a dictionary. Better go waste time reading the news or play some games on Yahoo or MSN or some shit like that.
