Can you smell the shredder overheating? I can. I predict that in 2008 the paper shredders in the White House, more specifically in the offices of the feral Vice President, will be working overtime. Data won't just be lost, it will be expunged. It will cease to exist, as well as any records of the records.

I'd put money on the fact that the "missing emails" from the RNC accounts in the case of the fired US attourneys is just a drop in the bucket. Given that Cheney has refused to cooperate with any rules or regulations regarding data management and information oversight it's totally predictable that he will do his damndest to ensure that any records of what went on within his offices is destroyed.

It'll make what Anderson did for Enron look like daycamp for preschoolers.

Yes, but somewhere is a backup tape/drive/directory with all that information. Erasing things gets harder, not easier, I would venture to say. Not too mention, some people make make copies of things for bargaining purposes in case they are hung out to dry; and, given modern technology, copying a few gig of e-mails is not difficult. It will be interesting to see how things play out.

I do wonder if he will actually care. The only reason would be to protect his reputation for pure vanity - its not like he's going to run for office again. Also, who is going to hire him for anything more than lobbying or lecturing - and I am venturing a guess that he won't be a particularly hot commodity.

You want descriptions? Get a dictionary. Better go waste time reading the news or play some games on Yahoo or MSN or some shit like that.
