Corzine says he's "blessed to be alive". I guess that's the half-full perspective on the situation. I prefer to think of it more like "fucking stupid for not having your seatbelt on at over 90mph." Jersey law agrees. It says that most people aren't bright enough to buckle up thus they have a law requiring seatbelt use. Seems like their governor, however, even when surrounded by law enforcement decided that the law didn't apply to him.
Now of course he got a long rehab ahead to think about it.
It also seems like I'm not the only one to think this way. A citizen brought a complaint against the governor for not wearing his seatbelt. While it could only bring a $46 fine it makes the statement that the rules are for everyone... even if you make them.
