It's a pleasure when people disqualify themselves in a single action. McCain did a spectacular job of proving just how unqualified he is to be president in one fell swoop:

While campaigning for president in South Carolina on Wednesday, McCain responded to a question about how to deal with Iran by breaking into the melody of the Beach Boys song ''Barbara Ann'' but changing the lyrics to ''Bomb Iran.''

''That old, eh, that old Beach Boys song, 'Bomb Iran,''' McCain joked and then added: ''Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb ... anyway, ah ...'' The audience responded with laughter.

When reporters asked if the joke was insensitive, McCain said: ''Insensitive to what? The Iranians?''

Clearly the man doesn't get it. You can't portray yourself as the future leader of a nation like the United States and make infantile jokes like that while campaigning for the job. Remember Regan's gaff about bombing Russia? That haunted him for a very long time after, even now it's one of the key things people remember about him.

Good going McCain. Please, ham it up some more.
