Could it be any more obvious?

''There is no correlation between the health, welfare and safety of foster children and the blanket exclusion of any individual who is a homosexual or who resides in a household with a homosexual,'' Associate Justice Donald Corbin wrote in the opinion.

This quote is in regard to the recent verdict handed down by the Arkansas High Court. For most of us who can read this the reaction is "Well - DUH".

In addition, the court said, the testimony of a Child Welfare Agency Review Board member demonstrated that ''the driving force between adoption of the regulations was not to promote the health, safety and welfare of foster children but rather based upon the board's views of morality and its bias against homosexuals.''

In this case double-DUH.

The problem is what with the "In your face" rulings, the courts find themselves at odds with the cock-munching politico's that love to beat the family agenda bullshit platform and cry foul when their attempt to legislate morality runs amok of the law. Justices are blasted for "from the hip" judgements, as opposed to a thoughtful reexamination of the laws that they're paid to interpret. From being shot at in family courts to being threatened by the stripping of jurisdiction - justices today aren't being evaluated by their skill in doing their job but instead on the popularlity of their decisions.

Yep, this is America today - where it's not what you do but how popular you are that matters.

Normally I'd say that a kid needs a mommy just as much as they need a daddy (and vice versa). However, given that *most* parents these days do such an awful job they might not get that anyway.

I just don't want to hear about little kids being raised thinking that one of the men is a mommy or that one of the women is a daddy. If a kid gets to have 2 daddies then good for them. But don't go changing the meanings of words that have been established since the dawn of human existence.

Same thing if two homosexuals marry. Fine by me, one of my good friends married his male partner just this past year and I'm quite happy for both of them. However, one of them is NOT a wife anymore than one of a pair of lesbians could be a husband.

IF basics such as that should suddenly become maleable then good luck keeping history straight when teaching kids. "Well how do we know *insert-historical-figure-here*'s mommy was actually a woman though? It just says 'their mother' not 'their female parent'..."

I've never heard of a gay couple wanting to be called a man and a woman. That's why states like Massachusetts are trying to use more generic terms like "partner" and "spouse" instead of "husband" and "wife", to accomodate gay marriage.

Seriously, do you think this is a problem? Or are you just making up shit to complain about? "I'm okay with gays getting married, but not if they tell me the sky is red. It's blue, damn it!"

Given today's divorce rates and the large number of single parents, the typical family stucture has already left the common realm. Add to that what a shitty job a lot of parents do these days also I'm not sure why people can sit on a high horse and say it would be worse for kids to have homosexual parents than have no parents at all.

After all, wouldn't it be better for some of these kids to have a family of some sort than being passed around from one foster care to the next? I can't say that I've ever heard that foster care was great in the first place, and having no place to call home has got to suck.

If I was just looking to complain about stuff I'd get a posting account on here. I've been offered one several times.

If You can't see how people arbitrarily changing the definitions of words (especially fundamental ones) isn't problematic over time then there's no point in me trying to explain it.

No, I know there's a problem with people changing the definitions of words. (Definitions change with time, of course, but that's not the issue here.)

But do you really think that gay men want to be called women, or that lesbians want to be called men? Like I said, I've never heard of that happening. If anything, they want gender-specific terms to be phased out in favor of more generic terms. A gay man would be a lot more likely to refer to his partner as a partner, or a spouse, than as a wife. So I think you're just making up something to complain about.

If I was making shit up to complain about maybe I'd reply to more of the rants that YOU have authored.

Well, no. That wouldn't be making up things to complain about. It would be complaining about something I posted. As opposed to pretending that people are doing something which they aren't, and then complaining about that. There's a difference.

Im sick to death of all this recent activity and discussion about gay rights, gay unions or marriages or whatever you want to call it.

Furthermore trying to justify this sickening practice by tossing out unrealistic numbers of bad parenting, divorce rates, etc etc does not make gay marriage/union/adoption any more acceptable in anyone's eyes.

I dont care if you're gay, I simply dont care. You have the right to be gay and I have a right to make fun of you because you are gay. I will continue to crack gay jokes, I will continue to laugh at you, I will continue to laugh at your limp wrists and light walk, I will continue to laugh at the bulldykes walking hand in hand. You know the ones.. the ones with really thick black belts in their manly Levi 509 jeans with work boots, short hair and butch looking shirt.

Blame your president Bman. He's the one who brought it up to deflect attention away from his poorly executed war.

And you're simply wrong. The statistics concerning the divorce rate among opposite sex couples are actually a compelling argument for same-sex marriage in MY eyes. It tells me that man/woman are no better suited to wed or raise children than man/man or woman/woman. It tells me that ANY parent is better than NO parent.

Even better, it tells me that a LOVING parent is better than ONE WHO DOESN'T GIVE A SHITE AND BEATS THE CHILD DAILY OUT OF RESENTMENT BECAUSE SOMEONE HAD TO STICK A PENIS INTO A VAGINA.

But go ahead. Laugh all you want at your stereotypes. I laugh at idiots all the time.

Sticking a penis into a vagina is what got YOU here and all of us reading this.. its biological reality whether you like it or not. Sorry, guess Im old fashioned but could you imagine if the ancients started accepting homosexuality thousands of years ago and slowly it became more and more acceptable to the point where fewer and fewer were doing what they were biologically destined to do? None of us might of been here today to write bout this. Hell, you might not be here if your ancestors decided not stick a penis in a vagina.

What does the biological reality have to do with homosexuals as adoptive parents?

AFAIK, the majority of studies on the subject indicate that homosexual parents raise straight children with the same frequency as heterosexual parents.

So, unless I'm mistaken, the biological reality of the couple’s choice will have little to no bearing on the future of the human race because their adoptive children would probably be straight. Unless what you're suggesting is that homosexuals should be discriminated against in all things because if people think it's ok, the entire world would stop procreating. In which case, there really isn’t any point of discussing it further.

Having read this blog and all of the comments, I think it is appropriate to congratulate sTmykal who was the only douche bag rancid enough to go straight to the top. Yes, let's blame the President for gays getting attention. Let's ignore the Clinton era "Don't ask, don't tell" spot light which led to its escalation in the media. Let's also ignore that he made his stance clear way before any war.

Sheesh. Political fanatics really grind my gears. If you're for someone, support them. If you're against them, at least have the integrity to go against them factually and respectfully. You don't see me going around smearing democrats just because I have a different point of view.

So, again, great job shitbag! Devoting yourself fully to confusing issues and spreading lies is no small accomplishment.
