Fuck you South Dakota

Yeah it's party time for most religous zelots. SD has passed legislation aimed at eliminating all abortions in their state and re-re-starting the legal challange to Roe vs Wade.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MATTER WITH YOU SMALL MINDED SHEEP FUCKERS?

Why do assholes need to make abortion an issue for anyone OTHER than a pregnant woman?

If you're not fucking pregnant, and can't ever be (because you're a man or you're too damn old) you shouldn't have any say in the issue. It's none of your goddamn business.

Not now.
Not ever.

To all you fuckers who think you're on some goddamn jihad to save the unborn.... please die. The world would be a better place without you.

"They're all in favor of the unborn ... but once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception 'til nine months. After that, they don't want to hear from you. No neo-natal care, no day care, no Head Start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing."
- George Carlin

It's a ploy for pro-choice groups to challenge the law. From there, you the Supreme Court with the goal of the now unbalanced court smacking down Roe v Wade. Here in my little democratic utopia, that means nothing as my state is dominately pro-choice. Out in jesus-land, women are screwed.

That said, I stand by my long standing view of Roe v Wade. It's a bad case and it was decided improperly. The result was good, but the case law is bad. Attempts to legislate it federally are wrong. It's a states right's issue at it's core.

Well, if wasn't South Dakota it would've been someone else. Indiana has been attempting to do the exact same thing, and I'm sure there are other states in on it.

And that George Carlin quote is pure genius :)

Carlin isn't God. That place is reserved for Clapton. But Carlin makes the short list.

I've never liked the "you'll never be pregnant" argument as a reason for keeping abortion legal. That being said, I hate the extremist who would force every woman to give birth but could give a shit what happens after that.

I consider myself neutral on the issue: I neither favor or oppose it; I don't view it as a 'right', but I think it should remain legal with regulation. For starters, the partial birth abortion ban should pass. You've got your first trimester to figure out what to do with the glob of cells growing in your body. After that, cracking the skull and sucking out the fetus' brain matter is indefensible.

I agree with laanie on the point that a "abortion" of a medically viable fetus is just plain discusting and should be reserved for only the most extreme cases of the mother's life being in danger and no other options. If you can't decide before 6 months, have the kid and give it to someone else to love and raise.

Partial birth abortions are performed by approximately 25 doctors in the US. They're done a few hundred times per year in the entire country. Personally, I'm willing to trust that those doctors know what they're doing, and not have Congress decide what specific medical procedures are legal.

Banning "partial-birth abortion" (which is a political term, not a medical one) is just another step towards banning all abortion. It's a slippery slope.

Abba has it right. This is not a "choice" that a woman has. Once you're past 16 weeks you're having the baby unless there's extreme medical necessity.

Again - just what was said above: It's for the woman and her doctor, NOT for any idiot politician.

You want descriptions? Get a dictionary. Better go waste time reading the news or play some games on Yahoo or MSN or some shit like that.
