Churches in Mass. Seek Ban on Gay Marriage
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: October 3, 2005

Over the weekend, supporters of the proposed constitutional ban on same-sex marriage launched a signature drive at churches across the state. They must collect more than 65,000 signatures before Nov. 23 for the question to qualify for the 2008 ballot, but its sponsors hope to gather double that number to protect against a challenge.
...
Former Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn, one of the petition's chief sponsors, said church officials have an obligation to ''speak out on important issues in the civic arena.''

''The marriage petition is not against gays but for children,'' he said. ''We believe that a loving family with a mother and a father is the best environment for children to be brought up in.''

For children? Ok that's just stupid. How is a ban on marriage between adults have ANYthing to do with children? "The children" don't get married. "The children" don't choose who their parents are. And most children have little or no say about the marital state of their progenitors. Raymond Flynn is obviously demonstrating just how much of a retard a politician can be with this remark.

Want to help "the children"? Fine here's a few good ideas on how to REALLY help "the children":
- Better immunization awareness
- Better schooling
- Better after school care
- Better school lunches
- Safer neighborhoods
- Cheaper and more available medical care
- Elimination of bullies and bigotry

Face it moron, adults will have children regardless of when and where and how and if they ever choose to get married to someone else. Since I've never heard of a child getting murdered or abused by a same-sex parent I really don't see how eliminating same-sex marriages is "better".

Wake up fucktard no one buys that shit other than people who are so stupid they shouldn't be reproducing in the first place. If you don't like same-sex marriages, fine - say it frightens you, or say you don't think it's fair to the majority of heterosexuals, or something that might make some sense. Don't make a meaningless emotional augment out of a valid subject. Better yet, put your efforts where your mouth is and really DO something for "the children".

I'm just guessing here, but it would seem to me that a couple who adopts (same sex or otherwise) - meaning a couple who REALLY WANTS a child - a couple that CHOOSES to bring a child into their home - would be more likely to want to give the child love and raise it correctly than ... say... a couple of trailer trash hillbilly breeders who suddenly find themselves in a family way and from there on out resent the impact a child has made on their already sad lives (i.e. a couple that is not ready to be parents).

Once again - I'm just guessing on that one. There's always the oddball case where an adoptive parent or foster parents are equally as fucked up as the people who murder their own biological children by drowning them in the bathtub or shooting them when they come home from school.

Also it has been shown that children of gay parents are no more likely to become gay themselves, or in any other way "morally corrupt". In addition, there is no evidence that gay parents are any less effective than hetrosexual ones.

Anyone ever see the Penn & Teller Bullshit episode on this? They investigated it and discovered that the only negative impact anyone has been able to correlate to homosexual parents is the negative stigma the children have to deal with from other children / parents. In other words, the only problem is the fuckwads that don't like it. Go figure. Bigots causing problems.

You want descriptions? Get a dictionary. Better go waste time reading the news or play some games on Yahoo or MSN or some shit like that.
