Not One, Not Two...

But six.

Six people.

On skis.

While I shoveled my way out of the record snowfall that hit our region the previous night, Wednesday, I counted six people joyfully sliding along the jogging trail that runs behind my home.

Skis.

This was no desperate attempt to get to the store. This was no emergency run to the hospital in the post-blizzard conditions. They walked down the street, saddled up at the trail and were off, shushing past everyone else who was digging out.

I hate people.

When we get a big snow storm I get to hear people whizzing by my house. This is mainly at night, down the state hwy in front of my house, down a road that the speed limit is 45 and people routinely do about 60 and when the snow plows are doing such a clip the snow gets throw a good 15 ft or more into my yard (plus side is no 3 foot pile in front of my driveway after I just shoveled - just need to run when you hear it coming cause ice chunks thrown at that velocity hurt)

I fully expect that one of these days a snow mobile will get taken out by one of those plows and the guy running the plow will only think he hit a chunk of ice.

I guess I'm missing why you hate people? Cause they are exercising by doing some cross-country style skiing on the trail? Isn't that what the trail is there for, exercise? If its covered in snow, you arn't going to bike, rollerblade, or run down it so might as well ski :)
