Some People Just Want to Get Shot In The Head

An anti-gay group has taken to picketing military funerals. Here are just a few choice quotes...

"The first sin was being a part of this military. If this young man had a clue and any fear of God, he would have run, and not walked, from this military," said protester Shirley Phelps-Roper. "Who would serve a nation that is godless and has flipped off, defiantly defied, defiantly flipped off, the Lord their God?"

And then there's this...

One protester had an American flag tied to his belt that draped to the ground. He was holding a sign that read, "Thank God For IEDs," which are explosive devices used by insurgents to blow up military convoys.

Protesters said America has ignored the word of God, and those who defend the nation must pay a price.

Wow.

At first I was appalled by this headline. Then I clicked the link, and noticed that it was the infamous Rev. Phelps and his brainwashed family.

He's a nutcase. Even the neo-cons consider him crazy. He's probably one of the worst human beings on the planet, but he certainly preaches about how superior he is.

Ignore him. He's so far beyond the fringe that he's not worth considering. He just wants the attention anyway.

He's just a truely hateful person. There are few people I've ever read about or met that have the same level of open hatred and bigotry. Which is amazing because I consider myself a amateur history buff and I include the likes of Stalin, pol pot, Mao and Hitler in that grouping.

People use their children all the time for their own personal views... tho it's pretty easy to figure that if someone is a psycho to begin with they're not going to consider the impact of what they're doing on their children. Remember the whole Terri Schivano thing, people were sending their children in with water and bread . One of the kids was quoted as saying something like "I'm getting arrested for Jesus...".
