It seems like every time I turn around I'm getting another nag-letter from my health insurance. What I really need is "mental health" insurance due to stress inflicted by my health insurer. Worst of all they're fucking shameless about it.
It seems that every time you see a doctor for a non-routine event the insurer thinks there might be an teensy chance that this was work, accident or someone else (who might possibly be insured) at fault. The result is that you get a letter, then another, then a call, then another begging, pleading and then threatening to revoke your insurance if you don't call them. The bottomline is that the insurer is trying to find any way it can to weasel out from it's job of paying up. It's annoying as fuck. I stub by toe and visit my doctor and I get a call. My kid twists his ankle in gym and I get a letter. I hurt my back putting a bag in an overhead bin, another letter. By now I've had to call about a half dozen times or more, sometime more than once for the same injury.
"Well it's the computer's fault, it's auto-generated," I was told by the woman over the phone when I complained about the near-monthly harassment. "If you don't want these letters you need to call your health insurance."
"Wouldn't that be Blue Cross, Blue Shield?" I asked.
"Yes that's right," she replied, neglecting of course that she was a representative for that same institution.
So to Blue Cross, please, stop bugging me with your bullshit. If someone else needs to ante up for my medical care I'll let you know, trust me. Otherwise just fucking pay the bill and quit looking for ways NOT to do your damn job. America is damn tired of insurance companies driving up costs, stealing our money and not paying claims. At least we're used to that. Don't fucking add phone and mail solicitations to that list of evil, ok? Or maybe you will get a public lynching.
