RE:

Here's a tip for communication with Roulette.

'Re:' should not be used as a replacement for the word 'about'.

For example, "Rou, re: your message re: Client A, I sent you an email with all of the details"

See... that's fucking stupid. I have no doubt that re: has some ancient Latin base. And it make perfect sense in a title of an email or memo. However, it's fucking stupid when you use it in the middle of a sentence.

The term "re:" is short for "regarding" and someone using "re:" in the middle of a sentence is either too lazy to type out the whole word or is retarded. "Re:" should be saved for the heading of letters.

However, considering the rapid decay of English in this IM world, I am not surprised someone picked-up using "re:".

Oh and by the way, leaving nasty comments as a "visitor" is cowardly.

Yeah, I know what it means. I just think it's moronic to use it as a abbreviation in the middle of a sentence.

And chicken shit anal zits like our dear 'visitor' can go munch a dick. Yes, I deleted your comment. Next time, leave a name, or a post something more original and I'll consider leaving it. Until then, feel free to kill yourself. Remember, down the river, not across the street.

according to merriam webster, re is a preposition, and therefore a legitimate word. Now I'm no English major but I suspect that, although using "re:" in the middle of a sentence could be passed off as a cut&paste error, usage of "re" should be acceptable.

Oh well, who am I to argue with the dictionary. Oh wait, I didn't. "Should not" versus "Can not". You're correct, it can be used properly.

Just for fun, use it in a sentence. Out loud. Right now. I don't care if anyone else can hear you. Re is apparently pronounced like ray, so go for it. Try saying the sentence in the original post out loud.

Now, reflect on what you just said. Sounded like a douche bag, didn't you? You come off the same way when you type it.
