Celebrities and politics

Those two things make strange bed fellows. First you have celebrities - who rise to their celebrity status more for their charisma and talent then their intelligence and forethought. Then you have politicians, who we elect hoping they have intelligence and forethought, but we frequently get drawn like moths to the flame to politicians who have charisma and a talent for bullshit.

Roll in Madonna, who has become a caricature of her former self. The former cone bra clad party girl has become somewhat self righteous since she found Kabbalah. And the material girl has become political in a big way.

At her concerts she essentially compares McCain to Hitler and Mugabe and compares Obama to Ghandi and Lennon and Gore (not that Gore is such a great compliment, but I digress). Then she "banned" Palin from her concerts and threatened to "kick her ass".

Madge - get over yourself, I think Palin has better things to do than come to your over priced concert. And furthermore, don't try to tell me for whom who to vote. If I want to hear anything out or your pie hole I'll buy an album/CD/download.

"Kabbalah" is a thing, not a religion. It makes me think Madonna is an idiot when she just says "Kabbalah" instead of "the Kabbalah". It's the same as saying, "I follow the teachings of Bible."

Huh? No one with half-a-brain would say something like that, they'd instead say, "I follow the teachings of *the* Bible."

See how much better that sounds?

Damn celebrities...
