Radio Free Santa, Part 2

Last year around this time, I made a post called "Radio Free Santa". In it, I complained about a local radio station which plays nothing but Christmas music for 6 weeks.

Today is 6 weeks before Christmas. In the car on the way home from work, I clicked through the radio stations. There are now 2 stations playing nothing but Christmas music. For 6 weeks.

I do not enjoy the Christmas season.

I noticed it in the supermarket before Halloween. I thought I was imagining things, but lo I wasn't.

There's no reason for "holiday" music before Halloween, or even Thanksgiving for that matter.

Marketing people need to die.

This is why God gave you fingers. You can go "CLICK" to the next station.

I'm lucky - my favorite station hasn't started the holiday nonsense yet - They respect the old traditions of waiting until Thanksgiving.

Click may work for the radio, but what about the supermarket. I haven't noticed holiday music in my supermarket yet, but the Salvation Army guy was out in full swing with the bell. Hearing the bell when I am buying Halloween candy is just queer.

There are many problems I can avoid easily. I do not give up my right to rant about them here just because I can, and do, avoid them.

If I don't read intelligent design writers, I would never complain about how little they have a grasp on reality. If I don't pay attention to governmental grabs on my rights, I may not even notice they've been restricted until I need to use them. If I just turn my iPod up really loud, I won't here the stupid people here at work.

It's still stupid and still crazy. And I still get to bitch about it.
